How to add Translation Memory and Glossary for Translation Project
Pre-configure Your Help Center Article Translation with TM and Glossary
Adding translation memory and a glossary are prerequisites to begin localizing and translating your help center or knowledge base articles. You can upload or add TM at the project as well as the organization level and create a Glossary to use for all projects.
You must also enable AI translation in global settings to empower your content localization with AI. Here's a step-by-step process to add TM and glossary.

Adding TM and Glossary at the Organization Level
Let's see how to add TM and glossary for translation at the organization level and enable AI translation:
Adding TM:
1. Go to the admin settings from the top right corner of your dashboard, navigate to Translation Memory, and click on the Add TM button. You'll get the option to either create a new TM or upload one from the desktop.
Note: Translation Memory is a database of previously translated text from source to target language. The Lingpad system would first check the available TM while translating your text content to pair the segment of texts for higher accuracy.
2. If you click on create a new TM, a side panel will appear to add details of the new TM. If you click on upload from the desktop, a local disk storage folder will open to select and upload a TM.
Adding Glossary:
1. Go to the Glossary tab from your settings' side panel and click on the Create Glossary button.
2. This will open a panel on the right from where you can add a glossary name, choose a term language, and add target languages.
3. Once you create a new glossary, click the three-dot icon of the respective glossary and select the Manage Term option. This allows you to add or upload glossary words or terms for translation in a .xlsx file.
Note: The glossary contains key terminology with approved translations for certain words or terms, which instructs AI to keep them as specified during translation.
Enable AI Translation:
Go to the AI Translation tab and enable the AI translation access toggle. Doing so ensures that your Help Center Articles are translated instantly through the power of AI. Additionally, you can select language tone from Default, Formal, and Informal.
Note: You can invite other team members, external translators, and localization partners to localize your knowledge base articles if you want to keep AI translation disabled. Alternatively, you can place an order with our preferred Language Service Partner (LSP) by clicking on the Order button from your Lingpad account.
