How Lingpad's AI Translation Will Work for Freshchat
After creating the integration, you need to enable automatic AI translation to use the Lingpad app for the live chat translation in your Freshchat platform. It can automatically detect chat language, translate to-and-fro messages, and send your responses in the detected language.

Lingpad App Settings for AI-Powered Translation in Freshchat
1. Open any live chat in a foreign language. You'll see two translation settings: AI Translation and Customer Language.
2. Enable AI Translation for AI-powered localization of your chats. Ensure Customer Language is set to Auto for automatic detection of language. This will allow Lingpad to auto-translate incoming chat messages to the agent's preferred language.
How Freshchat Agents Can Use Lingpad for Live Chat Translation
There are two scenarios to use the Lingpad app for Freshchat translation:
1. When the customers chat in the same language as you.
In this case, you can chat with the customers normally as the Lingpad app won't translate your messages. Simply type your reply and send it to the customer.
2. When the customers chat in a different language than you.
In this case, the Lingpad app will auto detect the customer's language and translate the message into your preferred language if the AI translation is enabled. You can type in your response by clicking on Private Note and starting the response with an exclamation mark (!).
The message you enter will automatically be translated and sent to the customer. The original response will appear as a private note only to you and not to customers.
Note: Start your message with '!!' to preview the translated message before sending it to your customers. You can copy and paste the translated message and send the reply yourself. This allows you to protect any sensitive or personally identifiable information of customers.
3. The possible third scenario is where the customer's language is different from the automatically detected by the system. While this is a rare occurrence, you can change the language from the drop-down menu by clicking on Change. It's crucial to select the correct language before ordering an AI-powered translated message.
